From May 13-17, 2024, Mr. Thitidej Tularak, Minister-Counsellor of the Office of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., United States, attended a meeting with representatives from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The UCLA delegation included Ms. Kathryn Paul, Assistant Vice Provost and Director for International Collaborations, UCLA International Institute, Prof. Stephen B. Acabado, Director, Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Department of Anthropology, UCLA, and Assoc. Prof. Supeena Insee Adler, UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, specializing in Thai music. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and exchange information on collaboration between Thai educational institutions and UCLA, focusing on personnel exchanges, continuing education, and exchange programs. Additionally, the meeting addressed various issues currently prioritized by UCLA.
Moreover, Mr. Thitidej participated in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2024, a prestigious global competition for youth in science and engineering held in Los Angeles, California. He extended his congratulations to the Thai youth team, which garnered significant recognition for Thailand by winning 13 major awards, including 9 Grand Awards and 4 Special Awards, with a total prize value exceeding USD 18,300.
